Marissa Has Found Peace...
To Marissa's dear family and friends...
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Marissa passed away early this morning at 5:29am. One Journey comes to an end and the next Journey begins for Marissa. We hope that you take solace in the fact that she found a place of peace around midnight, and from there slowly transitioned into a deeper and deeper sleep with softer breaths with each inhalation until she finally took her last breath and passed quietly with a look of tranquility and a smile on her face. She was surrounded by her family, with soothing shamanic music playing softly in the background.
Rest in peace Marissa. We love you more than words can express. While we are on this earthly plane you will continue to live on in our hearts, memories, stories, dreams, and souls... until we meet up with you again in a warm embrace when we make the Journey to the other side.
Peace be to you all.

Sean and family, I am so sorry to hear this news. Marissa was so full of life - always. This world has lost a wonderful spirit and kind soul. I smile when I think back to how much I enjoyed working with her at JLL - we had so much fun traveling the world together! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this horribly difficult time. Zach and I have been sharing wonderful memories of Marissa -- her incredible generosity -- no strings attached, thoughtful giving, love of coming to our holiday parties and PARTICIPATING in making them great, getting sooo dressed up!, bringing so many people to Zach's gigs... the stories go on and on. She is lifting our spirits.
All of our condolences to family and friends.

Sean and Family, you are in our prayers. We are consoled by knowing that Marissa is no longer having to fight and can truly be at peace and in harmony with her spirit in another place. She has shown us all how to live life with hope, courage and grace.

Dear Sean and Family, You are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure not having Marissa there has left an incredible void. I only knew Marissa for a short time in my life but she left a lasting impression and was a great inspiration to me while dealing with cancer as well. I pray for God to bring you comfort in these difficult days ahead. Love, Chris Anderson

Dear Sean, Michele, Michael, and Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Marissa was a dear and special friend. She was one of the first friends I met when I moved to Chicago and our friendship definitely impacted my life. I will always remember her intelligence, her humor, and the strength of her convictions. But, most of all I will remember the fun times … restaurants and dinners out in Chicago, Cubs games, and the parties she threw! I am truly blessed to have met her and I will truly miss her. Karen and I will keep your all in our thoughts and prayers.
